FAQ's, The questions for your 3D Ultrasound
Will you be able to determine the gender of the baby?
Yes, ( if you desire to know), in most cases we can provide gender reveal of the baby. We cannot however guarantee that the baby will cooperate during your appointment. Factors such as mom's body tissue, excess abdominal fat, gestational age and fetal position can affect the ability to determine gender. If gender is can not be obtained, we will have you return within one week for a FREE re-scan.
Will my 3D image of my baby look like the ones in the magazines?
Usually, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee that the images will be like the ones you see in the magazine and on social media. Sometimes the baby is not in the ideal position for optimal pictures, or there is not enough amniotic fluid around the face. Other factors that may result in sub-optimal pictures are advanced gestational age, mom's body tissue/fat and the way your baby is positioned.
What is an Elective 3D Ultrasound?
Elective ultrasounds are designed to provide a positive bonding experience for expectant mothers and their families. Dutchess 3D Imaging requires that a medical, diagnostic ultrasound be performed by your OB physician before enjoying your elective 3D/4D experience. Maintaining your pre-natal care with your doctor is crucial throughout your preganacy. An elective ultrasound will never take the place of pre-natal care.
When is the best time to have a 3D/4D Ultrasound?
Are 3D/4D Ultrasounds safe?
Ultrasounds have been studied extensively for over 35 years. Research has shown that they cause no known harmful effects on the mother or the fetus. Your 3D/4D ultrasound session utilizes the same type of ultrasound as a conventional 2D scan performed in your doctor’s office. The Sonographers at Dutchess 3D Imaging are board certified by the ARDMS and follow and ALARA guidlines.
Is there any preparation for my 3D/4D ultrasound?
Hydration, Hydration, Hydration !! We recommend that all clients hydrate 3-4 days prior to their 3D appointment. Being well hydrated can aid in better images. A few glasses of juice will also help about 30 minutes before your exam time.
Is the 3D/4D Ultrasound covered by insurance?
Since this is an elective, non-medical ultrasound it is not covered by insurance. This is in no way diagnostic and is not intended to replace the ultrasound done at your OB office. We accept payment in the form of cash or credit cards.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, appointments are necessary for all of our services. You can call us at 845-554-3421 or email us.
Our Late policy:
If our mom's are 10 minutes late you may be asked to reschedule your appointment time. There will be a 25.00 fee added as this time was already blocked for you.
Not every baby scans the same and image quality is dependent on many factors. We do NOT offer refunds even if we are unable to obtain any images of your baby.We do however offer one free re scan with in 2 weeks to come back and try again with most of our packages. Most times we are able to obtain pictures the second time.
Cancellation and No Show Fee:
We require a 24 HOUR cancellation notice or we reserve the right to charge a $25.00 fee. We understand that you might very well be in the hospital. Under certain circumstances your fee will be waved.
Not showing up , no phone call and no email to let us know you are not able to make your appointment will result in a $25.00 fee.
Our Deposit Fee:
After we obtain all the necessary information from you to schedule your appointment, you will receive an invoice online for a deposit fee of $25.00. Once the fee has been met, we will block and schedule your appointment. If the fee is not met within 24 hours we will not hold your appointment. Your deposit fee will be applied toward your remaining balance.
