 3D/4D/5D Ultrasound Questions

  • Ultrasound has been used for over 30 years in Obstetrics,  with millions of images produced. Numerous studies and medical research has shown no adverse side effects when used properly. There is no increase in sound waves used in 3D/4D  imaging over 2D imaging. There is no radiation involved when using sonography.

  • 3D images are the still images we take. 4D (also known as 3D Live) are the moving images we recorded as video clips and upload to Baby Flix.

  • Every baby’s image is different and there are several factors that determine the clarity of an ultrasound image. The amount of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby, gestational age, the position of the baby, and the body condition of the mother, are a few of the factors that affect the image.

    We cannot guarantee that your images will be similar to others you might have seen in our studio or elsewhere. Ultrasound works best when the sound waves have fluid/water to travel through. A well-hydrated system of the mother will help to optimize the image. This is probably the most important factor. Increased bodyweight of the mother can often affect the quality because sound does not travel as easily through tissue or fat as it does fluid.

    Our goal and passion is to give you a pampered, peaceful experience. We make every effort to work with the mother trying various angles to possibly better visualize the baby. There are times when the baby will not take the hands, feet, etc. away from the face. In that case, if your baby won’t allow us to get a partial face image and you have a package that includes a free re-scan, we invite you back!

  • Our sonographers are trained to determine gender and our accuracy rate is very high. We have accurately been able to determine the gender as early as 14 weeks. If for whatever reason, we cannot, then we invite you back for a complimentary return visit, if you have purchased our Early Gender Reveal package.

    If you do not wish to see the gender, then we will be sure to keep it “hidden” to preserve your surprise. 

  • It really depends on when you wish to see your baby. Earlier in your pregnancy, you will see cute, tiny body parts, and often the baby is moving quite a bit. Mid pregnancy the baby is growing and filling out and you are able to better see facial features. Later pregnancy will show a full-faced baby, and chubby hands and feet, but not usually in the same frame as they are larger now unless, of course, they have the hand or foot in the face!

    Our sessions do not replace the regular prenatal care of your doctor. Our Sonographers are medically trained and certified by the ARDMS. While we are not looking for problems, should we see one, we will advise you. 

  • Yes, you will leave with everything your package includes.

    Baby Flix is our digital website where we upload all your 2D,3D, and 5D images for safe storage and easy sharing. If you would like to have your entire session recorded PLUS the 4D video, that would be an additional fee of $9.99.

  • If you have a little extra cushion, we HIGHLY recommend you follow the water prep EXACTLY as we advise! Please refrain from dairy the day of your appointment. Please remember that we are dealing with sound waves. The sound wave will enter the layers of your body and will weaken as it comes back to the machine. The longer the trip of the sound wave may result in sub-optimal images!

  • NOOOOOOOO!!! There is NO guarantee your baby will be in the correct position on the day of your appointment. Factors could also include you not successfully completing our HIGHLY recommended water prep.

Appointment Preparation

  • We are a by appointment only office. Please schedule your appointments in advance. We MAY be able to accommodate walk-in appointments, however booking in advance guarantees your appointment.

  • We do not require a release form by your doctor for our elective ultrasound exams. However, we do insist that you are under the care of a doctor or midwife. You will need to sign our waiver with your healthcare provider’s information.

    It is recommended but NOT required to have a script for your Diagnostic ultrasound exams.

  • YES!! We are allowing our scheduled mom to invite 4 guests with her. Your guest count MUST include children.

  • We highly recommend our moms to drink 3 gallons of water in a gallon jug, 3 days leading up to your appointment. Please read your email confirmation! It will have your water prep that is CRUCIAL to your image quality! It is helpful to have a full bladder upon your arrival. The goal is for the mom to be very well hydrated, promoting the most amniotic fluid around the baby in the womb. It is VISIBLY obvious in the clarity of the fluid.

    If you have not been good about drinking your water, start now and set your appointment ahead to allow at least 1 week of time as this often helps. You may eat a small snack before you come. NO DAIRY, it will create gas.

  • We understand that sometimes a baby can be shy or mom was not prepped for her exam. For all packages that apply, we will offer one complimentary re-scan in the event we cannot determine gender at 14+ weeks, in our Gender packages. Our Deluxe and Pearl package include a re-scan if your baby is unable to provide us with a PARTIAL face image.

    There is never a guarantee for full-face images for any session, at any time.

Scheduling Questions

  • We accept cash or credit cards for methods of payment. If you are paying with a credit card, we must see your valid Photo ID along with the credit card.

  • We do not have a refund policy. We do however have a re-scan policy included in most of our packages.​ We are unable to refund the time of your appointment since the service is completed.

  • If you pay in full but have to cancel your appointment without a new date scheduled, you will be refunded everything, except the non-refundable booking fee. This amount will be refunded back to you the exact way you originally paid.

    This FULL refund policy needs to happen within 3 DAYS from the date you cancel, with an email from you requesting the refund.

  • The $25 non-refundable booking fee will need to be paid to book the ultrasound exam room for your service. The booking fee will be deducted from your balance at the date of your service.

  • Any service that is booked, includes a one-time FREE rescheduling move, provided that your rescheduling request is 24hours before your scheduled appointment, original package and within 2 weeks of the original date of booking. If you reschedule your appointment online, for the second time, it will automatically cancel your appointment.

    SAME DAY rescheduling requests will require a $25 rescheduling fee for a new date and time. This also includes a rescheduling fee for a Free Re-Scan reschedule.

  • Cancelling your appointment online needs to follow up via EMAIL, within 3 days of your canceled appointment to be eligible to receive a FULL refund, (MINUS the NON-REFUNDABLE booking fee).

  • LATE/ NO SHOW / NO CALL or SAME DAY CANCELLATION:

    PLEASE RESPECT OUR TIME AND WAITING LIST!

    WE ADVISE YOU TO ARRIVE 10 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR SCAN TIME. THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO CHECK IN SO YOU CAN ENJOY THE FULL PACKAGE YOU HAVE REQUESTED. ARRIVING AT YOUR SCAN TIME, MAY INCLUDE A $25 LATE FEE. PLEASE COMMUNICATE WITH US.

    IF YOU DO NOT SHOW UP TO YOUR APPOINTMENT OR CALL US, YOU WILL BE CHARGED A $25 NO SHOW OR NO CALL FEE.

    IF YOU CANCEL THE SAME DAY OF YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT, YOU WILL BE CHARGED A $25 SAME DAY CANCELLATION FEE.
